This third edition of « Precis du pilote ULM et avion léger » stayed faithful to qualities which made their success : provide to the future pilot, just like the patented pilot, a basic and easy to use work. In that direction, it perfectly answers to the definition the dictionary gives of “Precis”: “concise” and “sententious” work. Every essential rules are treated in these: - The aerial space evolution where navigation is ruled – The aerodynamic base, flight mechanic and performances are sum up with rigor and without concession – Motorization, equipment, board instruments and annex. This book is a “supplement to steering book”, its abbreviated form allows it being slipped in the flight bag, it is always here, ready to give a detailed answer to a question which would be, later, developed in a more detailed study. In that direction, this book is the “vade-mecum” every pilot will need. Topic developed and the presentation timeline give the confirmed pilot (PPL, LAPL, basic patent, aircraft) a “way of working” to maintain skills updated and perfect their knowledge. It also perfectly fits to the drone student pilot who prepares the theoretical exam – 264 pages – Weight: 640g - Each
VFR phraseology guide – 4th edition. Phraseology is one of the most important elements of the aerial safety. This is the transmission support of data and clearance, fundamental for the smooth running of your flight. This book’s goal is to allow a VFR private pilot becoming familiar with terms and expressions during flight and on the floor, during radio telephonic transmission he will have to perform, without referring to the official document which mainly has phraseology dedicated to controllers and IFR pilot, and which can seem complicate on the beginning. In the following pages the “good use” of phraseology is explained with different examples of flight, living and explicit, you can report easily. Each example is presented in both languages, French and English. More than 250 words and vocabulary expressions are both presented and translated.
The author invites you, in the first chapter dedicated to mechanic, to discover the autogyro in every details, from the wheel to the rear wheel, studying the calculation of motorization necessary to the device you want to realize. This initiation to the helicopter is a real first. Complexes functional aspects of this device are explained easily, thanks to a succession of colorful images supported by an attractive text. This guidebook is addressed by to a large public: curious, neophyte or specialists (pilots, engineers, mechanics, aeronautics teachers.) For the most curious, this is a surprising and exciting discovery. For the neophyte, this is the essential and sure base which will allow him going further in the helicopter knowledge. Thereby “théorie élémentaire de l’hélicoptère” is the tool future pilots and technicians have always wanted. For the specialist, this is both a reference publication and a back to basics. The author, who used to be responsible of the “education” department of the helicopter division of EUROCOPTER society, gives us the synthesis of its long theoretical experience and use of helicopters. “Théorie élémentaire de l’hélicoptère” is used by the company EUROCOPTER to train pilots and technicians of its military and private customers.
This book must help future aircraft pilots, candidate to the theoretical exam aircraft common core, preparing and especially succeeding this test no matter the class he intends to and the selected option: pilot or trainer. Indeed, chapters, altimetry, regulation, meteorology, aerodynamic, navigation, board instruments, aircraft propulsion, and human factors are the same for everybody and for every kind of aircraft, and asked questions during this theoretical exam are chosen in those chapters, only the part “flight mechanics and paragliding use” especially treats this discipline and will interest paramotoring community. As to trainers, this book will allow them, while training their students, to access easily and quickly to the asked data, or eventually to confirm some knowledge memories tend to fade. We also wanted to class through chapters every knowledges we thought useful to an aircraft pilot, avoiding on maximum data dusting over phases, which makes the research of such or such element complicate.
The second edition of this hot air balloon steering guidebook has been entirely rewritten. Widely illustrated with photography, maps and schemes, it allows a concrete approach and an easy reading. Its organization makes acquiring every essential data to use a hot air balloon easier. A detailed summary and an enriched “in-depth” flight index are discussed, making this document a “reference guidebook”. The Direction Générale de l’Aviation Civile and the Fédération d’Aérostation asked Arnaud Deramecourt, trainer pilot and amateur builder who defeated many records in France, to lead this project.

The idea of writing such a book has been suggested by inspectors pilots who see too many times that VFR pilot candidates have some gaps in reading and understanding flight weather documents, in combination with atmosphere state graphic representation. This book is not pretentious enough to pretend answering every afferents questions that might be asked about the complex mechanism of the atmosphere. It only brings one sort of analysis synthesis so that the pilot might exploit his meteorological documents. The goal is to know how to link atmosphere general courant characteristics, associated clouds and observation and prediction messages, to conclude on an animated satellite image if it is possible. Even if learning meteorological codes is tedious, this guidebook will help you decrypting messages more easily, thanks to delicate meteorological situations example. With a little bit experience, the pilot will be able to have an idea of the weather really quickly during a VFR flight. Based on his knowledge, he will have a critical spirit, more relevant and will be able to compare the predicted situation with the real one, so that his flight might not be endangered and might fly with no surprises. 3rd edition
Teach me the plane! Logical following of the first volume “Draw me a plane”, this booklet teaches the elementary plane steering through drawing. Still faithful to the comics book style, this new book more technical, explains physical and mathematics phenomenon which, most of the time, are hard to explain. Here, through caricature and sketches, everything seems to be easy. Serious and sensitive subjects, like calculating aircrafts balance, are explained with humor, many details and accuracy. Two calculates examples make the balance problem easier to understand. So everyone can choose the way he prefers. Dashboard and engines “popped” drawings unveil secrets from their interior and allow a better understanding of their functioning. Vibrating and exciting as a hangar conversation. Author: Gil Roy, Vincent. Format: 17x24 – Binding: 56 pages – Release year: 2010.
Helicopters derived of the first lineage helicopter R22 conceived by Franck Robinson are nowadays the most sold civilian helicopters in the world. Its honorable performances, its reasonable buying price and its reduced maintaining cost make this a helicopter we can’t ignore. You’ll have difficulty in finding a pilot who stays neutral in front of this engine. It has its own detracting public but there also are many pilots who only swear by this machine. Its modernity and its lack of maintaining between revisions have led some pilots to become overconfident and careless. However, this machine still is a helicopter with its mechanic complexity. Its huge agility needs smoothness of steering which doesn’t forgive some bad reflexes. High accidents rate during first years have been strongly reduced thanks to focused training actions. The “Robinson Safety Course” is one of the examples. Originally intended to trainers, this safety class about steering Robinson R22 and R44 should be recommended to every pilot. Developed at the beginning to answer students who wanted to know better helicopters, we thought it is interesting publishing this tiny book dedicated to process on ground. Indeed it appeared that those parts, which seem trivial compared with steering, tend to be quickly forgotten by the occasional pilot.
Planner monitor and forecaster at Meteo France, the author has always been trying to understand atmospherics movements which allow non-motorized aircrafts to stay in the air. He also interested to particular weather situations favorable to long distance flight: from 800 to 1000 km in planner and from 200 to 300 km in paragliding. He understood that big flight in planner are linked to the characteristics air mass and homogeneous which depend on the altitude general courant well defined. Collaborating enlarged with regional gliding centers, and through flight writings, he led a long study on meteorological conditions met and the air mass analysis. This collaborating enlarged to paragliding pilots. By participating to many regionals, nationals or internationals championships, the author knew how to refine his experience in the really low couch of the atmosphere domain. Moreover, by interfering with training sessions to the aerological prediction to web pilots, paragliding or aircrafts, he created an analysis method destined to aircrafts pilot. It seemed natural for the author, to synthetize all those data and knowledge accumulated and to share his methodology through this book. By reading this book, free flights pilots will be able to analyze easily and interpret meteorological data they will consult on websites. So they will be able to determine 2 or 3 days earlier, the most favorable flight situation.
The key points of the PPL and the basics certificate. Private pilots don’t always have the opportunity to deepen a few points more or less delicate to flight technics. Particularly, mass and centering essential notions, performances, aerial spaces, navigation and deviation are badly seen in general. The goal of this new CD-Rom is to clarify every point thanks to explication elements associated to animations or simulations and vocal commentaries. You’ll find chapters below clearly developed: Stability – Mass and Centering (with animation and centering study simulator) – Performances (with full take off performance simulation) – Altimetry (everything about the private pilot, with many animations) Aerial spaces (which is a must-known) – Navigation (with navigation simulator + VOR and a really realistic weather dimension – Night flight (really full + videos)
